Rick's Staff Experts Welcome To Rick's Dive 'N Travel Centers Team of PADI Diving Professionals. We are excited about introducing you to our world.......the world of scuba diving. We know you will have an unforgettable experience learning more about "what's down there". The staff of Rick's has over 75 years of combined educational experience and introduced many people such as yourself to the wonders of the underwater world. Our goal is to help through your development and proficiency of basic diving skills and knowledge and sincerely enjoy our participation with you in this exciting learning process. Rick Newton

After graduating from Central high school in 1970 and completing his military commitment in the US Navy, Rick began pursuit of a business degree at Arkansas State University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. While becoming interested in Scuba Diving, Rick completed the PADI Instructor rating at the PADI College in Jacksonville, Florida in 1976. Rick managed the former Lynn's Ski 'N Scuba in Little Rock before opening Rick's Dive 'N Travel Center in North Little Rock in 1978. Traveling the world over, Rick has frequented many of the most popular diving destinations, as well as "off the beaten trail," dive sites while completing years of diving education and experience. He is currently a PADI Master Instructor with over fifteen diving specialty ratings. Rick is married to Robyn Newton, who is the Travel Coordinator at Rick's and has three children, Jon, Lindsey Nicole & Kayla Marie.

Robyn Newton
Robyn is the Travel Coordinator at Rick's. As a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and Dive Travel Specialist, she has had the opportunity to travel to many of the destinations divers frequent. If you have questions or interest in one of our group escorted dive vacations where we take care of all the work while you have all the fun, or would like Robyn to put together a dive vacation package especially for you and your family, give her a call. Robyn also specializes in Australia, Fiji and other Pacific dive adventures. Honeymoon dive experiences are another one of her specialties!!

Sandy Carroll
Sandy is our in-house P.A.D.I. Course Director and Education Consultant for our training programs. She started working full time for Rick's in April 1986 shortly after becoming one of Arkansas' first women scuba instructors, and switched from a career in commercial photography to underwater photography. Sandy has taught many divers, from Open Water through Instructor, the fun and excitement of "blowing bubbles" underwater. Come join her sometime to go ice diving, cave diving, or just plain pleasure diving!

Tom Styles
Tom is our full time equipment technician and one of our PADI Instructors. He began diving eight years ago, but rapidly became a Master Scuba Diver and recently completed his Instructor rating, and we have since kept him very busy. Tom takes a lot of pride in his work and will always make sure your equipment is in the best possible condition before it leaves the center. If you like night diving, Tom will be the first one on the boat ready to be your dive buddy, and you've got to ask Tom about his Blackbeard's excursions!
