Sipadan is famous for its wall diving. Walls surround 90% of the island, and most are sheer drops that extend out of sight into the blue depths. Many of the walls have ledges that the turtles use as resting places. Some of the walls are so steep that they are actually undercut and slope inward toward the island creating overhangs encrusted with soft corals.

The many dive sites surrounding Mabul are shallow and afford the opportunity of extended bottom times. Generally the current is mild allowing you to enjoy easy drift dives. Several different ecozones exist at Mabul so you can explore for a variety of creatures that you've previously only in books and films. Mabul has sloping fringe reefs, sandy bottoms, rubble fields, grassbeds and even the pilings of the jettys are home to countless Macro Subjects. The prolific marine life coupled with the local knowledge of our professional dive guides will make Mabul one of your most productive Macro experiences.

The dive sites around Kapalai offer an abundance of various fish and invertebrates, living away from the threat of Sipadans' many dangerous reef predators. The Ligitan reefs also act as a nursery for juveniles of many species.

The diving around Kapalai is exceedingly easy and shallow, but quite spectacular. The sandy bottom and the sparse coral heads host an amazing array of small, often yet-to-be-classified, shamelessly colorful subjects, making the diving here an unforgettable experience for any discerning photographer.

ORCHIDS AND NEPENTHES OF BORNEO

Borneo is known for its great bio-diversity and home to many rare and unique species of plants. One of the most fascinating plant species are the orchid family with its incredible blooms, the other being the carnivorous pitcher plants. These plants are to be found in abundance in Borneo and this field and study trip takes you into the areas where these rare and unique species grow. Also, you will be guided by the experts on these plants. Along the way take in the highlights of this fabled island.

ENDANGERED SPECIES AND VANISHING CULTURES

Borneo, over tens of thousands of years, has become home to a number of species that are endemic only to this area. As our environment and habitat changes, so does the future of these species come into question. By the same measure some of the fascinating cultural traditions of the indigenous people changes as development proceed. This tour gives an insight into the Borneo of old and an opportunity to appreciate this magnificent land.
