UNDERWATER CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION
"A PADI Distinctive Specialty Rating"
For the advanced diving enthusiast that is interested in special search & recovery procedures or has some interest in law enforcement. Rick's U/W Crimescene course is designed to give a rescue response team or individuals the advanced skills and techniques necessary to successfully locate, recover, process and preserve items of potential evidence, which may otherwise be lost. This informal underwater training weekend will also serve to establish diving officers and Underwater Crime Scene Investigators as experts in their fields, adding to their credibility in court as well as their personal skills. Each diver will also be exposed to specialty areas including but not limited to the use of underwater video equipment use, metal detectors, sonar, line searches with limited visibility and group organization. Prerequisites are Advanced Open Water and a minimum of 25 logged dives. This course is also approved by the States minimum standards for Law enforcement officers. A must for any evidence recovery dive team or those departments interested in forming one. Taught by PADI Master Instructor Rick Newton and a PADI Divemaster Law Enforcement Training Officer.

ICE DIVER
If you have the desire to learn the appropriate techniques to Ice Dive, join us on our yearly scheduled Ice Diver Course and trip to Illinois for this many faceted and chilling experience. Imagine using a chain saw to cut a hole in the ice 8 to15 inches thick. With the proper training in use of dry suits, weighting, line handling and much more, you'll discover the many wonders that await you "under the ice". If you are a technical diver and have an interest in challenging experiences, this course is for you!

RE-BREATHER DIVING
If you think ONLY military combat divers use Re-breathers...that's not true anymore. Our newest specialty course will give you a better understanding of enriched air and how this mixture is used in a Re-breather. This revolutionary trend in diving allows a diver not only more extended bottom time, but also the ability to get very close to various forms of marine life without spooking them, because you don't emit bubbles as done in conventional SCUBA equipment. How would you like to have a two hour bottom time on a 30 cu. ft. cylinder? That may be possible with a re-breather. This course is a prerequisite for those interested in owning a re-breather and part of our training for those who purchase one. Come experience one of the quietest experiences you may ever have in Rick's Re-breather Course.

WRECK DIVER
Would you like to explore sunken ships, crashed planes and lost treasures beneath the surface?  Then the PADI Wreck Diver program is just what you might be looking for. To venture into PADI’s Wreck Diver program, you’ll need to be at least a PADI Adventures In Diving or Advanced Open Water Diver, and be at least 15 years old.

Diver passing through the wreckage underwaterDuring our PADI Wreck Diver program conducted by our resident PADI Instructor, Chuck Socia, you'll go on four open water dives, which is conducted over two days during our carpool trips to Panama City Beach, Florida during the Summer months. This is where you'll put to practice all the information you gained from your instructor and from the PADI Wreck Diving Manual and video.  Additional information contained in our Wreck Diver Program includes:

  • The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving.
  • The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels.
  • Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures.

The elective wreck dive conducted during the Advanced Open Water Program may count toward this specialty at the discretion of the instructor.

To explore the treasures hidden beneath the surface, stop by Rick's and sign up for the Wreck Diver program today.  You can also give Chuck a call at 501-753-6004 or 1-800-521-3541.

*Wreck penetration-training dives are limited to within the light zone and within 40 meters/130 feet from the surface, vertical and horizontal distance included. If the wreck used for training is located in deep water (over 18 meters/60 feet), the Deep Diver rating is recommended as a prerequisite for the Wreck Diver program.

CAVERN DIVER
For most divers the thought of cave diving is mystifying and intriguing and definitely taboo for those without the proper training or experience. Our Cavern course is the first step in learning more about Cavern exploration. This is also the first step in "Intro to Cave Diving", and full Cave Certification. Understanding about safety lines, air limits, special equipment, the buddy system, lighting and safety are just a few of the topics covered in this specialty. Open Water training is usually conducted in one of the Florida Springs which we frequent on a regular basis. For some of the clearest water in the world and an experience most will only dream about, join one of our PADI Instructors for this exciting course.

NITROX DIVER
Nitrox... Enriched Air...EAN...NOAA II...,You have been hearing about them, now find out what the excitement is really all about. Our PADI Nitrox course covers how this special blending of Oxygen & Nitrogen affect our no-decompression limits, how to use
it properly and the advantages over standard compressed air. Would you believe that at certain depths you can triple your bottom time from your current computer? Its true...Learn how to use the various dive charts established for a 22% up to 40% mixture to maximize your "down time". Enriched air is also a much safer gas to use with proper training as well as being less fatigued at the end of a days diving. With PADI's recent approval of EAN for recreational divers, Rick's can bring you up to speed on this new specialty certification course. We'll see you there!
