Ice Diving

If you have the desire to learn the correct techniques to Ice Dive, join us on our yearly scheduled Ice Diver Course and trip to Illinois for this many faceted and chilling experience. Imagine using a chain saw to cut a hole in the ice 12 to 15 inches thick. With the proper training in use of dry suits, weighting, line handling and much more, you'll discover the many wonders that await you "under the ice". If you are a technical diver and have an interest in various challenging experiences, this course is for you!

Phillip Joiner is helping remove blocks of ice that have been cut with a
chainsaw to create an opening for our divers to enter the 36 degree water.

Sandy Carroll and Phillip Joiner prepare to enter the water under 15 inch thick ice to explore the depths of the quarry.

The dive team is harnessed together and tethered to the surface where the line is controlled by a topside tender so the divers can find their way back to the surface.
